Indian Badminton Player Satwiksairaj Rankireddy Smashes Guinness World Record for Fastest Hit

Indian badminton player Satwiksairaj Rankireddy has smashed the Guinness World Record for the fastest hit by a male player in the sport.

Rankireddy hit a shuttlecock at a speed of 565 km/h during the Korea Open on July 17, 2023. The previous record was held by Malaysian player Tan Boon Heong, who hit a shuttlecock at a speed of 493 km/h in 2013.

Rankireddy’s record-breaking smash came during his men’s doubles match against the Japanese pair of Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi. The Indian pair won the match 21-19, 21-16.
