Sensex Closes Higher for Third Day, Gains 1.2%

The Sensex closed higher for the third consecutive day on July 12, 2023, rising 1.2% to 54,404.72. The NSE Nifty also closed in the green, gaining 1.1% to 16,220.20.

The gains were broad-based, with all 19 sectors of the Sensex closing in the green. The biggest gainers were the IT sector, which rose 2.3%, and the banking sector, which rose 1.8%.

The gains in the stock market come amid a positive global sentiment. Asian markets were mostly higher on July 12, led by gains in China. European markets were also trading higher in early trading.

The rise in the stock market is seen as a sign of investor confidence in the Indian economy. The economy is expected to grow at a faster pace in the current fiscal year, supported by strong domestic demand and improving exports.
